Dr. (Mrs.) Ene Angie Adikwu

Founder/President of MAFOYENB

Dr. Ene Angie Adikwu excelled academically, attaining a Grade 2 Certificate (1980), NCE (1986), B.Ed. (1988), M.Ed. (1992) and PhD in Counseling (2011) from institutions like ATC Kano, UNIJOS and Benue State University. Her illustrious career spans over 30 years in educational agencies. She began as a Monitoring Officer at the National Primary Education

Commission in 1989, before joining NDLEA and returning to the education sector at the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in 1994.

Rising through the ranks from Monitoring Officer to Director of Special Programs, Dr. Ene served at UBEC for 32 years prior to retiring in 2024. During her career, she travelled extensively for workshops, visiting China, France, South Africa and Singapore to build her capacity, which she also imparted to others. Some key achievements include pioneering youth counseling programs, enhancing monitoring & evaluation, Quality assurance, driving special interventions like special needs education, vocational & Technical Education, ECCDE Guidance & counselling in Basic Education sub-sector in line with EFA, Basic Education objectives and SDG.

She was privileged to participate in high-level dialogues on education reforms with state/national policy makers. Upon retirement, Dr. Ene established the Marichirsty Foundation; drawing from her expertise to empower youth and strengthen nation-building. Her academic feats, professional advancement and service orientation continue to motivate young Nigerian women in education.

Her relevant experience in the educational sector coupled with her experiences growing have massively motivated her into taking the bold step of setting up this organization. It's her way of giving back to the society by channeling her passion in this way.


Engr. Dr. Alex Okibe Edeoja

The Director of Programs & Research of the Foundation.

Engr. Dr. Alex Okibe Edeoja is a Mechanical Engineer, with specialty in Thermo-fluids

and Energy studies of over 16 years’ experience. He currently does consultancy and supervisory works for young people engaged in Energy-related and other engineering projects. He also facilitates in Procurement Standards for The Center for Innovation in Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards (CIPESS-FUAM), a World Bank assisted project. He previously taught at The Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo and with The Benue State Teaching Service Board.

He has experience in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, management of engineering publications, and is a certified Programme Evaluator and Implementer of COREN’s Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Furthermore, he has been engaged in organizing and coordinating an annual youth capacity building conference series with an average of 200 participants mainly from Benue and Kogi States for more than 20 years now during which the young people are equipped to meaningfully create impact. He is a Board member of Livingstone Academy, Anmoda (near Otukpo in Benue State Nigeria), a Secondary school with international affiliations.

He has proven experience youth activities including sports and education. He is an alumnus of University of Agriculture (now Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University), Makurdi. Engr.

Dr. Edeoja is a member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigerian (COREN), Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineering (NIMechE), Renewable and Alternative Energy Society of Nigeria (RAESON), and Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN). He is dogged in pursuing and achieving set goals with excellent teamwork skills.

Christiana Adikwu

Human Resource Manager (Diaspora) of the Foundation.

Christiana Adikwu hails from the vibrant community of Ogbaidgbo local government area of Benue State. Holding a Bachelor of Technology degree in Transportation Management from the esteemed Federal University of Technology, Minna, she is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Global Logistics at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Adding to her academic accomplishments, she has also obtained a professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CioTA).


With a rich tapestry of professional experience spanning over six years, she has garnered invaluable insights in the field of logistics and transporation. Before embarking on her master’s program, she served as an Assistant Logistics Coordinator with Heavy Machinery Dealership in Lagos State. Prior to that, she honed her skills as a logistics documentation officer at Logistiq Xpeditors Limited, also located in Lagos State. Her dedication to service was further demonstrated during her tenure at the Nigerian Railway Corporation headquarters in Ebute Meta, where she completed her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).


Beyond her professional endeavors, she is characterized as a people-oriented individual, driven by a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others. Her commitment to continuous improvement and leadership excellence underscores her proactive approach to personal and professional development

Marie Adikwu

Legal Adviser & Attorney to the Foundation.

Marris Adikwu is a lawyer, writer and editor from Benue State, Makurdi. From 2013-2019 she attended the University of Jos where she obtained a second-class upper degree in Law, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2020.

After a brief period at the Ministry of Justice in Kaduna, she made a pivot in her career, and now works as a researcher and writer in Germany. Her work has been featured in publications like Vogue Magazine, Vogue Business, New York Magazine, The Next Web and more. She is passionate about women’s rights and empowerment, and her work touches on these topics regularly.



Through the MarieChristy Foundation, Marris hopes to expand on the vision to support and uplift underprivileged individuals and communities in the society.
